Great modern take on classic Korean dishes!
Fantastic food, great cocktails, friendly service. I can't wait to go back.
Visited during restaurant week. The cuisine leans towards modern Korean, and it was decent. I tried the beef sotbap (not shown), which was okay, but the fried rice cakes stood out and were quite enjoyable. The service could use improvement, especially considering the restaurant tends to get busy and on the pricier side.
I absolutely loved the fried oysters, and I've never liked oysters. This has opened my eyes. Other than that, I've had my fair share of Korean food, and only recently returned from Seoul, so I think the Korean dishes, especially the ones with the gochujang-like paste were okay. They all tasted a little similar, but I still enjoyed them. We also had the soju flight and ginger makeoli drink which were good. The decor was very nice too and there's a bearable (around 15 min) wait.
Really good food! We tried the Japchae, Duck Fried rice, and bulgogi sliders! Skip the fried rice.
Joel in the bar made the best drinks. so good at customer service while training at that. such a great experience
Kimchi pot was the best but chicken wing too sweet and noodles was just ok...
The insidious tendrils of social media nonchalantly dropped details of Chan Seattle into my feed....imagine my surprise and delight as I entered the restaurant to find an atmospheric den of promising smells and smiling faces. Genuine lowkey warmth as we were seated immediately. Gentle, requested recommendations for both sips and nibbles. Gobsmacked as EVERY dish worked scrumptiously. Libations were equally deliciously memorable. What an amazing addition to Seattle's culinary landscape. BRAVO!
I walked in just wanting bibimbap and now I will have dreams about Chan's Skillet Bibimbap forever. I'll also be running back for more whenever I can! I'm Korean and have had lots of bibimbaps in my day, but the flavor and texture that came with every bite of this bibimbap just elevated it to something I didn't know could happen to such a humble Korean rice bowl. Thanks Chan!!!
Cool date night spot in downtown Seattle. Service is super fast and good came out literally right away after ordering. Bone marrow was great. The topping took the flavor to the next level Roasted cauliflower with the sweet aioli and fry shallots has the right texture and flavor combo I love the wagyu Sam! Meat is cooked to perfect mid-well. Just wished the pairing to the meat would be more flavorful. Duck is great too. The rice doesn’t taste like Korean but more like risotto with bibibamp sauce. I liked the desserts and appetizers more than main.
Korean Tapas, heavy flavors. Portions were rather small (not surprising for a tapas style restaurant)
The braised pork was too sweet. Seems to push skillet which is no my cup of tea.
Really good. Great value. The only thing I missed was the actual fish sauce in the kimchi.
Incredible food priced reasonably. The flavors were bold with some unique takes, and the textures played off each other remarkably well.
Best Korean fried chicken I've had so far, outside of Korea. Pork belly kimchi fried rice is a must. House made soju is affordable and phenomenal. Went back twice in the same trip.
Came here for a fall trip after a walk around the market. Settled on some wine, could have grabbed a bottle from behind me, but only wanted a glass. My friend and I ordered the radish kimchi jar, ahi tuna tartare, fried oysters, braised short rib, bulgogi beef sliders, kimchi hangover soup, less the pork and finished with the candied ginger creme brûlée. The service was good. We were seated right away. It's a small cozy and quaint spot. The kimchi jar, fried oysters and the kimchi stew all tasted decent. My friend enjoyed his tuna, short rib and bulgogi sliders, even though it seemed he was eating for two, th...
I have to give this place five stars. As a Korean food connoisseur I've tried a number of Korean spots. Chan, takes all the best of Korean cuisines and adds a few western touches. Maple-glazed-pork-belly, as an example. My sweet potato dessert was a familiar unsweet, no-guilt , goodness. Check this place out but expect to wait. Staff are generously hospitable, though, Korean food is designed to be shared so don't be annoying. Share all the dishes and enjoy discussing the flavours with your table mates.
A pretty hot spot! We arrived before opening and there was a line to get in. Service was prompt, dishes were tasty - I'm looking forward to exploring more of their offerings in the future!
The wait time was a bit longer than expected, but the food was awesome!! Definitely worth it!
Delicious Pho, egg rolls, satays and wings. You can also order Vietnamese beer!
Loved the food and the desert. There usually is a short wait for this cozy welcoming place. The staff is super nice and they brought everything super fast. The ginger creme brulee is a must
More crowded than Mercer at rush hour. Front of house staff is exceptionally rude and discourteous, and unclear on waiting policy. Not worth waiting 5 minutes for this place.
Was looking for a dinner spot before the theatre, and where everywhere else had a long wait we were able to get seats here right away and it was excellent! I had the jidori chicken and it was very tasty (next time I’d probably ask for it to be spicy), and for dessert we had the caramel crème and chocolate molten cake which were decadent! The cocktails were out of this world. I had a 25th season and smoke stack old fashioned, absolutely delicious. Friend had the EVO and it was refreshing and tasty. All the staff were wonderful and so kind, and our server Amy was incredible. Highly recommend this spot!
Awesome restaurant, one of the few modern Korean restaurant in Seattle. The space is fairly small and there is no reservation so come early or late if you don't want to wait. A lot of modern takes of Korean food, everything I tired is great, especially the sliders.
